On Sunday, the 31st I will be 85 years young. Graduated in the summer of 48 at the Hollywood Bowl. Sports editor my senior year. Chairman of our 50th reunion committee. Our reunion was held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in the same room where the first Academy Awards were held. If you were in my class 1945 to 1848 I would like to hear from you.

Moved to Hollywood from New York and graduated from Hollywood High School. Started working at Lockheed Aircraft Corp. Skunk Works in 1940. Aprile Millo, an operatic soprano with the Metropolitan Opera, was in my grade at Hollywood High. I'll never forget the first time I heard her sing, in our dusty auditorium, where she tamed a wild audience with her amazing voice. I wrote a blog post about those five minutes.

A graduate from Hollywood High School, Class of Summer 1944. Thomas Smith passed away on December 18, 2013. He leaves behind his wife, Yolanda, sons David, Mark and Matthew and daughters, Candida, Priscilla, Denise, Yvette and Teresa. Go "Jugs"!

Harry Major, HHS retired English Teacher was found dead in his condo last week. Detectives are calling it a homicide, but no new information is available as yet.

Sunday, June 19th, 2013. It was the final performance of Hollywood High’s “In the Heights”. The cast and crew and parents were emotional and exhausted, but everyone had to change into their “red carpet clothes” as we were heading to the 2nd Annual Jerry Herman Awards at the Pantages immediately.
