I've pasted the obituary below.
While I don't recall meeting Chas, as he was called and who most likely was in the Hollywood High School Class of Summer 1965, I did know his sister, Ruth Salmore Bracken. Ruth and I both graduated in June 1967.
My sympathy goes out to Ruth and her family.
Here's the obituary:
Charles "Chas" Salmore, a leader in marketing and online consumer influence, passed away April 5. He was 68. His survivors include his wife, Laurie; daughter, Sophie; sister, Ruth Bracken; nephew, Kyle Bracken; and faithful dog, Bailey. Chas was born in Los Angeles on June 27, 1947. A lover of the outdoors, he took up surfing in his teenage years, which became a lifelong source of joy. After graduating from Hollywood High School, Chas wet on to obtain a MFA degree from UCLA's School of Film and Television. For over two decades, Chas served as the Founder and CEO of Marketingworks, Inc. In this role, he contributed articles to industry trade publications and spoke at numerous conferences. Before his illness Chas spent much of his time volunteering. A celebration of life is being planned.
