“A Celebration of Life” ~~ Anne Watson, November 22, 1923 – July 16, 2011
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend too many, Anne Watson died from Multiple Myeloma on July 16, 2011, passing away peacefully at home.
Born on Mohawk Street in Los Angeles on November 22, 1923, Anne was an accomplished singer, dancer and entertainer in her early years.
Anne met Jim Watson on a blind date in February 1945; and the rest, as they say, was…

A mere six rows of students out on the front lawn of Hollywood High School. They did have palm trees back then. The boys wore jackets and ties and the girls were formally dressed as well.

All best wishes,

“Hollywood has always struck me as a place where it doesn’t matter where you are from,” says Principal Jaime Morales, who immigrated from Nicaragua. “You are welcome here.”
These resounding words are quite indicative of the diversity of the school today.
CNN recently showcased Hollywood High Schools diversity in a wonderful piece that was produced by Chuck Conder. We've shared this with you in this post.
There are students in desperate need of help reaching…

Although the Hollywood High School Alumni Association does not actively participate in any political agendas, I personally found that one of our representatives has been working with The Assembly Speaker on an initiative to cut college tuition fees at CSU and UC colleges by 2/3.
43rd District Assemblyman Mike Gatto and The Assembly Speaker introduced legislation that would propose to dramatically reduce the cost of attending state colleges.
Here are some comments he made on…

It’s amazing how things change so quickly in this communication age. I remember my old rotary phone and writing letters to my grandma. Now a days, a stamp is not needed and communicating with friends and business associates has developed into something we only dreamed of for the 21st century. Take Facebook for instance. It all started with a search for old friends and without realizing it, everyone is reconnecting with people all the way back to high school and so starts my story.
In…
