“A Celebration of Life” ~~ Anne Watson, November 22, 1923 – July 16, 2011
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend too many, Anne Watson died from Multiple Myeloma on July 16, 2011, passing away peacefully at home.
Born on Mohawk Street in Los Angeles on November 22, 1923, Anne was an accomplished singer, dancer and entertainer in her early years.
Anne met Jim Watson on a blind date in February 1945; and the rest, as they say, was history. Married in November 1945, they moved to Burbank in 1951 and have resided there ever since, moving only one time during all those years in 1960. It was in this home she raised 3 children and entertained 5 grandchildren.
Jim introduced Anne to camping when they went to the Sequoia National Park on their honeymoon and her love for the great outdoors lasted the rest of her life. Summers consisted of two-week family road trips when her own children were young, and after the grandchildren arrived, visits to Johnson Canyon in Utah became a yearly destination. Anne loved it there; she was a real desert lover and appreciated its unique beauty and serenity.
Anne and Jim had many common loves and pursuits; she used to accompany Jim when he flew his private plane all over the West. They loved camping, hiking, river rafting through the Grand Canyon, BBQ’s and swim parties. Family get-togethers always consisted of one of Anne’s fabulous meals and her legendary desserts.
She loved her yard, pool and garden; especially her waterfall and flowers, she could grow anything. She was a consummate cook, a lover of film and history, while especially interested in the local history and lore of Los Angeles.

Diagnosed in 2005 with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the plasma in the blood, Anne kept it at bay with routine treatments for several years, but finally succumbed in July 2011.
Her husband, Jim, misses her terribly as they did everything together. Her children, Kathy Nelson, Cynthia Clarke and Bruce Watson; along with her daughter-in-law Linda and son-in-law, Don, and her five grandchildren, Brian and Susan Nelson, Andrea and Denise Watson and Holly Clarke will all miss her greatly as well.
Anne, may you now be at complete peace. We know you are waiting for us to join you and one day, we will all be reunited again.
“When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.”
You were our treasure Anne, our little jewel. You will live in our hearts forever.
