Volunteer Corner

Teresa Oborny, a retired E6 from the United States Airforce, has been volunteering two days a week to help the Hollywood High School Alumni Association with mailing list management, data entry and phone calls. We'd like to thank Teresa for helping us out. She did not graduate from Hollywood High but she is a firm believer in giving back to her community.

Bob Buckley was kidnapped by his Mother from Buffalo, New York, who stole away to Hollywood, California, where she did have some minor success in the movies. She didn't have a lot of roles, so of course, they didn't lead their middle-class Buffalo life, but were very impoverished. Bob said their poverty wasn't that important, because he always credited Hollywood High with having given him an extraordinarily good education, and wonderful friends. In Loving Remembrance of Glenn Shepherd ('40)

Geologist, activist Glenn Shepherd dies at home, 86

WAILUKU — Friends and family are mourning the loss of Wailuku resident Glenn Shepherd, remembered as a community activist, geologist and all-around funny guy.

Shepherd, 86, died on Tuesday at his residence of pancreatic cancer.

“He was such an outstanding person and outstanding human being,” said Council Member Michelle Anderson.

Volunteer Corner

We are very pleased to announce that Teresa Oborny has joined our list of dedicated volunteers. She will be helping us with data entry and mailing list management. She is a retired from the Air Force and has worked as a education and training manager. She has been a para educator for special education children and a therapeutic foster parent for five years.

She is a member of the community and has offered her valuable time to help us! Thank you Teresa!
