I am impressed since I had no contact for 63 years and then very professional contact. June Tanner Jaffee, W'49, is my only HHS classmate with whom I have had contact since moving across the country. Congratulations on being so organized, etc. You can save on the invitation since I will not be able to attend. My husband and I are going on a Smithsonian cruise to Greek Isles in June. Certainly one of Hollywood's most glamorous ladies, Ruta Lee is also one of its most multifaceted and top-notched civic contributors. Born in Montreal, Lee is the daughter of a Lithuanian tailor. While at Hollywood High, Lee's career in show business began at the famed Grauman's Chinese Theatre… as an usherette, then candy girl. She was quickly promoted to box office cashier…

Bob Buckley was kidnapped by his Mother from Buffalo, New York, who stole away to Hollywood, California, where she did have some minor success in the movies. Bob said their poverty wasn't that important, because he always credited Hollywood High with having given him an extraordinarily good education, and wonderful friends. I believe it, because he was a Renaissance…

Yes indeed, Mr. Carl Johnson has been around for more than nine decades! He asked us to give him a call and talk about his life and he wants to join us for Alumni Day 2012. He is 96 years old now. Carl still drives himself (yes in a car!) and he is a talker. I enjoyed a great conversation with him today. Imagine this...he and I schedule a lunch together. What a great thing that's going to be, I want to chat with him about life at Hollywood High in the 1930's. I can't wait. Carl is…
