When Albert Einstein was making the rounds of the speaker's circuit, he
usually found himself eagerly longing to get back to his laboratory work.
One night as they were driving to yet another rubber-chicken dinner.
Einstein mentioned to his chauffeur (a man who somewhat resembled Einstein
in looks & manner) that he was tired of speech making.
"I have an idea, boss," his chauffeur said. "I've heard you give this
speech so many times. I'll bet I could give…

I am pleased to report that our Lost Connections program is working well.
Donna Dee Joiner (Shaw) was recently reconnected to her friends George and Dottie Sprotte through our remailing program.
The program is a good one for maintaining the 100% confidential nature of our membership list.
If you’d like to reach a member of the Hollywood High School Alumni Association, you can send a copy of your letter and a postage stamp for each person you’d…

His was a distinguished life, first in his career in the Military, the Science Community and later as a civic activist. After graduating from Hollywood, he won an appointment to the Naval Academy in 1941. While there, the National AAU gymnastic champion was named captain of the Gymnastics Team. Graduating with the Class of 1945, he was assigned to the…

We moved to Hollywood in 1940. The house my parents bought at 5826 La Mirada Avenue that cost $5200.00 and it had 2 small rentals. I was 10 years old a real wimp. I attended Santa Monica Blvd. Street School for 2 years. Marbles, kick-ball and tetherball were the games of choice on the playground. We played, in the street, a game called kick the can and over the line. We never locked our door to the house, because everyone in the neighborhood had the same front door key. We were never…

Think of your body as a high-powered, finely engineered transportation vehicle, like a space shuttle. Instead of liquid hydrogen, your body is powered by your own intake. The food you eat is the fuel that energizes the vehicle. What you put in your fuel tank is burned by your high performance activity or - in the case of low-octane, junk food - is deposited in your engine. Think of your mind as the driver who takes control of and steers your body to victory or hits the wall. Your body is…

In memory of George Stone (also known as Bob). George passed away in October 2011 of A.L.S. Lou Gehrig's Disease. I received today's wonderful thoughts from Jim Rohn and wanted to share them with you!

To read less and think less. To try less and discipline ourselves less. These are the choices that lead to an empty life. These are the choices that, once made, lead to a life of constant apprehension…Continue
