Also, I neglected to instruct you on where to post your comments. Go to the Community tab on this link and click on GROUP. Once there, navigate/scroll down until you find Class of 1970 and click on that. There will be a wait instruction while the webmaster determines that you are, in fact, registered on hhsalum.org and then also a member of the Class of 1970. Then you will be issued something like an invitation to join the group and you're in! That is the wall that, for now, is still open for class mate comments. Valerie has sent a blast email to all the members of the Class of 1970 signed up on hhsalum.org to direct them there and to also provide them with the meeting info and to encourage feedback. I just started the thread in case alums had some ideas on dates or other suggestions they wanted to scribble for the time being. All input will be reviewed by Valerie and discussed at the 2nd meeting of the reunion planning committee as will be the surveys.
According to the survey sent to us by Valerie, the new options are as follows: Spring (which would be May or June), Summer (July) or Fall (Sept or Oct). On my survey, I starred Oct. as first choice, Sept. as 2nd choice and May as 3rd choice, stipulating I could only attend in May and not June (or anytime in summer) since I work in the state legislature and are fully on the fiscal/budget issues at that time in addition to concluding all state business before the session ends on July 31st. (And, honestly, you couldn't lure me into L.A. for anything -- much less a reunion -- in AUGUST. It's ridiculously hot and uncomfortable). So, I will try to get Valerie to also send you a survey and you can express your preferences and add a comment whereever it might fit -- answering it online and forwarding it back to her.
"Thank you. It's sad they both passed away and in the same year. I wonder were they lived when they became ill? I went to Cheremoya on Franklin Ave. 6th grade. Class of 1963. I posted Paul's obituary on the Facebook page, "You know you…"
A minor addition. Some kids in the Nichols Canyon area went to Valley View Elementary. That could be where Paul and Laura Yates went because their house was near Mulholland. But I truly do not know. "
"Vicky Valentine: I assume Paul Yates was in your class at both Le Conte (1966) and Hollywood (1969). He most likely was in the summer (June graduation) classes. The family lived in Nichols Canyon. Kids there went to Gardner Street Elementary.…"
