So sorry to hear of his passing, as well...I would echo Jeff's comments; had Mr. Rippey in 7th grade at Le Conte as well...I/m sure he would have just been starting his career at that point...saw him in the early 2000's at one of the Grad Days...he was hanging out in the library and we had a fun chat...RIP, friend....

Wow, really shocked about Mr. Rippey's passing! I need to check this website more often. Mr. Rippey went to HHS with my older brother Chris. In the early 60's he became my gym teacher at LeConte Jr. One day he walked up to me to ask if I was related to Chris and then promised to tell my brother everything I did wrong! Talk about intimidation! To add to my problems he followed me to HHS. Actually I liked Mr. Rippey very much and always felt a bond with him because of my brother. Very sorry to hear of his passing.
