Woodbury, CT-- Ruth Lovina Galbreath, 92, died April 11, 2005 at Bridgeport Hospital.
Miss Galbreath was born June 24, 1912 in Los Angeles, California, daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude Galbreath and sister, to the late Dorothy Gertrude Schlieper.
She was a member of Eastern Star and a volunteer for the American Red Cross during WWII. She worked as a companion and caregiver all of her life retiring to NM in 1975. In 2001, she moved to CT to be with her niece.
She continued to be an active volunteer through her church affiliations as well as with the Woodbury Senior Center, where she made baby blankets for the needy. She smiled broadly from her hospital bed when told the new Woodbury Senior Center had finally passed. She was also the inspiration behind The Gardens of Glory; Flowers of Faith located at SBF III.
She leaves a niece, KathySue Roberts of Woodbury, CT, a nephew and his wife, John and Donna Schlieper of Chico, CA, an adopted niece, Peggy Norton of Layton, Utah,
a great niece and her husband Katy and Carl Gervasa of Chico, CA, a great niece, SarahSue Roberts of Torrance, CA, a great nephew, Devd John Roberts of Albuquerque, NM, and many friends.
You are invited to celebrate her life Friday, April 22nd from 10AM to Noon at the Spruce Bank Farm Community Center, Woodbury, CT.
Arrangements: Internment will be private in Hollywood, CA.
