While attending HHS, I was a student of music, did arranging for the orchestra (under the supervision of Anita Priest, who moved on to the Community College, where she was my instructor again). However, I did not continue as a music student and instead pursued geography as a professional field, first at the community college and then at UCLA, where I obtained my B. A. and M. A. before I went to Ohio State Univ. for a pre-doctoral year. I returned to UCLA and earned a Ph. D. in geography, specializing in American Indian land and political geography. I taught at Appalachian in NC, Oregon State, and then came to Cal. State Fullerton in 1964 (retiring in 1995). I have authored Indian Land Tenure 1975;edited, Irredeemable America 1985; and coedited Trusteeship in Change 2001. I am now coediting Mapping Native America, which is under review by the Smithsonian Institution Scholarly Press. I still compose and improvise at the piano. If anyone wants to chat with me, ids1959@yahoo.com. Welcome Imre
